History
For more than half a century, East Keilor Cricket Club has been at the heart of the local community, bringing people together through a shared passion for cricket.
Our story began in the 1966/67 season when the club fielded its first senior and junior teams in the Essendon & Broadmeadows District Cricket Association (EBDCA), playing at Quinn Grove Reserve. As cricket in Melbourne's north-west continued to grow, the competition evolved into the Essendon Broadmeadows Keilor Cricket Association before eventually becoming the North West Cricket Association.
In 1967/68, East Keilor Cricket Club moved to its current home at Overland Reserve, where generations of players, families, volunteers, and supporters have helped shape the club into what it is today.
Today, our Junior and Veterans teams compete in the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association (NWMCA), while our Senior teams proudly represent the club in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association (VTCA). From introductory junior programs through to senior and veteran cricket, East Keilor provides opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy the game.
A significant milestone in the club's history came during the 2021/22 season with the opening of our state-of-the-art pavilion at Overland Reserve. Designed to support our growing cricket community, the modern facility has greatly enhanced the club experience for players, members, and visitors alike. Featuring four unisex change rooms, lift access, environmentally sustainable initiatives, modern social spaces, a commercial kitchen, and outdoor viewing terraces overlooking the ovals, the pavilion reflects the club's commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and future growth.
From humble beginnings to a thriving community club, East Keilor Cricket Club has built a proud tradition based on participation, development, friendship, and family values. Today, we proudly field strong junior, senior, women's, girls', and veterans programs, welcoming cricketers from all backgrounds and experience levels.
As we continue to grow, our dedicated committee, volunteers, coaches, and members remain committed to providing a safe, inclusive, supportive, and enjoyable environment where players can learn, compete, and create lifelong memories.
More than a cricket club, East Keilor is a community — and we're proud of our past, excited about our future, and grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey.
